A Note from Brittany:
Many of us try to perfectly plan our lives, weaving in personal, academic, professional, and relational accomplishments. What happens if there are unexpected path changes creating stress or leaving us feeling stuck? Thoughts can race, intense emotions can quickly move up and down, and we can be left feeling unsure about next steps.
I have spent my clinical career helping individuals identify, understand, and shift thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that get in the way of socioemotional and professional goals so that these important pieces can be experienced as crucial tools instead of detrimental setbacks.
My previous experiences in educational, outpatient hospital, and private practice settings allowed me to work with individuals from adolescence through adulthood experiencing anxiety, social anxiety, depression, academic and career stress, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with neurodiverse populations (ADHD, autism spectrum disorder) and using neurodiversity affirming practices.
My Approach
My approach utilizes a wide array of holistic evidence-based, strengths-focused, and empathy driven practices to meet you where you are currently at. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), deep listening, motivational interviewing, mindfulness techniques, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Additionally, I am a certified provider for the PEERS® social skills intervention, fit for those interested in further developing important social skills directly correlated with continued socioemotional success. My approach to social skills work is collaborative, neurodiversity affirming, and strengths based. It’s not about changing who you are. It’s about further developing skills to let others see and experience who you are.
No one person or therapeutic experience is the same, so our time together will center on your goals, strengths, and areas where you want to see growth, as well as how we can work together to facilitate this change. My clinical environment invites you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental setting.
